Moxibustion

Moxibustion or Moxa is a heat therapy derived from the Mugwort plant, and is processed into a number of forms. Moxibustion is used for treating pain, trauma, and certain cold-related conditions. Moxibustion is used in Traditional Chinese Medicine to dispel cold and dampness inside the body and warm the energy pathways (Meridians) to facilitate smoother circulation of blood and Qi.

Moxibustion is recommended specifically for individuals with stagnant body constitutions like people with colds, flu, frozen shoulders, painful menstruation and digestive ailments.

Magnet Therapy

Magnet therapy is a safe, non-invasive method of applying magnetic fields to the body for therapeutic purposes. Magnets are taped on acupuncture points, to encourage a homeostatic affect. It accelerates the healing process and provides natural pain relief. Magnetic therapy is said to increase overall health benefits by working with and improving the circulatory system. Benefits include increased vitality, energy and the accelerated healing of wounds.  It utilizes acupuncture theory and points without the use of needles and therefore is a great alternative for those who are adverse to needles.

Electro-Acupuncture Therapy

Similar to traditional acupuncture, Electro-acupuncture utilizes the same acupuncture points that are stimulated with a pulsating electric current and not by the Practitioner. The electro-acupuncture machines are quite small and use batteries as their power source. There are many different wave forms and frequencies.  Depending on the patient’s condition, the duration of the current also varies. Electro-Acupuncture doesn’t replace traditional acupuncture needling methods, but is a useful adjunct to enhancing treatment outcomes and is a very comfortable modality.

Infrared Heat Therapy

Infrared heat therapy makes use of a range of infrared heat lamps to alleviate inflammation and pain, stimulate weight loss, boost immunity, promote healing of wounds, stimulate cardiovascular function and much more. The waves work by vibrating at the same rate of the body. Just as a body needs a healthy intake of food and water, it needs a healthy intake of infrared waves.
